Getting to the Island

By Ferry

Ferry companies offer scheduled daily departures from Mackinaw City and St. Ignace (communities located at the south and north end of the Mackinac Bridge). Parking is free for day-trippers and longer term secured and unsecured parking for overnight guests is available for varying fees. RVs, Motorcycles and Buses are welcome.

By Air

Northwest Airlines offers flights to Pellston International Airport (airport code PLN) from most major cities. There is no direct flight to Pellston other than from Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Mackinaw Shuttle offers shuttle service from the Pellston airport to Mackinaw City where you can catch a ferry to the island.

Great Lakes Air, based in St. Ignace, offers charter service from St. Ignace to Mackinac Island and also offers flights to meet commercial flights arriving in Pellston, Traverse City, Detroit, and Chicago.

Getting around the Island

Our island dock porters will meet your ferry and transport your luggage to the hotel. They will assist with directions to the hotel and ensure your belongings are in your room. Dock porters accept gratuities.

You may walk the short distance to the hotel (less than one block) or use the Mackinac Island Carriage Tours taxi service (906-847-3323).

Carriage tours are offered by Carriage Tours, Inc. and Gough Carriages Purchase tickets in the center of town on Main Street.

Bicycle rental services are available through Mackinac Wheels and Mackinac Bike Barn and other bicycle rentals on the island. If you prefer a horse, hourly rentals for horseback riding and liveries are available at Jack's Livery and Cindy's Riding Stable.
